Depending on how you feel, you may like to use this time productively or just to relax. In either case, here are a number of options for possible activities.

Study or Do Homework
Studying is likely the best use of your time. Head to the library and finish some readings, work on a paper, or study for an upcoming test. You’ll thank yourself later when you realize you’re ahead of schedule and don’t need to turn down an invitation to go out.

Read for Pleasure
Take a break but still feel productive by reading a book. It’s good to enforce the habit of reading regularly, even if the books you read have nothing to do with your studies. If you want to give your eyes a break, you could listen to an audiobook as you walk around campus.

Watch a Movie
If you feel like you need a proper break, find somewhere to watch a movie. You could use a streaming service on your laptop or there may be a place on campus showing movies.

Eat a Snack or Lunch
Avoid spending more than necessary on food by carrying snacks or a lunch with you to eat during a break between classes. If you have enough time, you may be able to head home and prepare a proper meal. Either way, eating something will give you the energy you need to take on the afternoon.

Do Some Journalling
Journalling can help you organize your thoughts and it only takes a few minutes a day. Using time between classes can help you acknowledge how you’re feeling about your studies and college life in general.

Work Out
A key way to stay healthy is to exercise on a daily basis. Your campus may have a gym or you may be able to take a fitness class with other students.

See Your Advisor or a Professor
There’s no need to wait until you’re having a problem to reach out to your advisor or professors. Make an appointment or drop by during office hours to discuss your studies. Come prepared with talking points and questions to gain the most from the meeting.

Find a Campus Event
If you look, you can usually find something happening on campus. Make a note of any events advertised that you’d particularly like to attend. Even going on your own can be fun, as you’re sure to meet new people.

Explore the City
Too often, students neglect exploring their college town because they spend all their time in or around campus. Research the top spots you haven’t visited yet and plan a trip for when you have spare time.

Take a Job on Campus
A campus job will give you a flexible schedule you can fit around your classes. Plus, many of these jobs involve a large amount of downtime, meaning you can earn money and finish your homework at the same time.

Clean Your Apartment
Keeping your apartment clean will feel less overwhelming if you complete a few small tasks every day. You could do a load of laundry, vacuum the floor in your bedroom, tidy your desk, or do whatever chore falls to you that week.

Write a To-Do List
At the start of the week, dedicate some time to writing a to-do list with all the tasks you’ll need to complete. This should give you some good ideas for how to spend your breaks.
It’s easier to use extra time between classes when you have the chance to return home. This means you’ll need to live near campus, but it doesn’t mean you need to live on campus — you can instead find nearby student housing. Peterborough students can find a home at Severn Court, just across the street from campus.
